My first Cake decorating attempt :o)

Tonight (Saturday), for the Relief Society Broadcast (at Church), I volunteered to bring a cake to be used as a centerpiece (and dessert of course :o). I have been wanting to try to make cakes and play with fondant, so this was a perfect chance to give it a try. It was fun, a little frustrating and stressful, and definitely a learning experience. I have much to learn, but for my first attempt I think it was pretty awesome. People kept coming to try our cake and those at our table finished their plates, so that equals a success to me.

Here are my pictures....FINALLY! I think it was pretty good, I could easily sit here and point out all the flaws, but I am trying not to be so nitpicky....so I won't do it! Let me know if you have any questions, I am by no means an expert but I can answer some questions.

Not being picky, but notice how it slants down on the left side? I bought a cake leveler and am too much of a mess to even figure out how to use it. That's one of the things I will work on for next time! LOL!

Sorry for the shiny-ness above and below...I am still leaning how to take pictures.

At least I have done it once now, and I know what to expect.
I want to be able to make fun cakes for my kids birthdays.
