For an example of how to make these work, this is what I plan to do ---

Transaction #1
Lady Speed Stick Deoderant $2.99
cheap filler item (maybe top ramen or 25 cent pudding)

Total - $3.24 plus tax
Use $3 RR (I have a few from the St Ives Body Wash last week)
get back $2 RR

Transaction #2
Aquafresh Advanced toothpaste $3.00
plus small item (see above)

use $1/1 printable coupon
Total - $2.25 plus tax
Pay with $2RR (from transaction #1)
get back $3RR

repeat these two transactions and continue to get toothpaste and deoderant basically free (except tax of course :o)

Notes on Walgreens

*At Walgreens, a register reward cannot be applied to the tax. Therefore is your total before tax is not equal to or greater than the amount of your register reward(s) you must use a filler item (a cheap item like ramen, or travel size tissues, etc...) to get your total higher. Remember though, the idea is to get as much as you can for as close to free as possible :o)
* When using a coupons or register rewards at Walgreens, the total number of coupons (including register rewards, but not including the store coupons printed in the ad) cannot be more than the number of items. In the example above, I am using a $2 RR and a coupon on the toothpaste. This gives me two "coupons" and one item, so I will have to use a filler item.
* Walgreens has no official limits, but you will only get one RR for each item in a transaction. Also, you will not get a RR for an item if you are paying with the same items RR (example = if you buy the aquafresh and try to use your $3 RR from aquafresh to buy another, you won't get a second Register Reward) Make sense? I hope so :o)
* SS = Smart Source, one of the companies that offers coupons inserts in the papers
